I provide Architectural and Interior Design Services primarily for residential and small commercial projects. Much of my current workload is residential, either new residences or additions and remodeling.

 

Typically, I meet with a prospective client (at no initial charge) to discuss the details and specific needs of their project. Once the scope of work and degree of complexity is determined, I provide a simple letter of agreement outlining services along with corresponding fees.

 

Generally phases of work consist of As-Built Phase (for additions and remodeling projects) where I field measure existing conditions and input this information into AutoCad software. Next is Design Phase and during this stage of work I focus on solving the client’s specific design problem. This is usually an evolutionary process with an initial design presentation along with client review and comments and then design refinements required to produce an attractive, functional and cost effective solution.

 

At this stage, preliminary pricing may be obtained from a contractor to verify that construction costs are within the range of the budget.

 

Next phase of work is Construction Drawing Phase and during this phase I produce a package of detailed working drawings including engineering, which is required for final pricing, permitting and construction.

 

Additional services, on an hourly basis, include assistance during bidding or pricing and during the construction process as needed. Although this seldom happens, the client may terminate work at any time by simply notifying the Architect and paying for work that is completed to date.
